Needles become painful if burrs & feather-edges are not removed from heel of bevel grinded edge.

Hypodermic surgical needles (canullas) are made of stainless steel. A main drawback in manufacturing process is the development of burrs hoods and feather edges are the heel of bevel grinded edge.
 


Though the use of find grinding wheel become essential to get a good finish, burrs are likely to form with an additional drawback of low production rate and high cost of finer grinding wheel.

The burrs and feather edges in needle give a painful prickle and are essential to be removed.

Mec Shot have designed a special blast cleaning machine to deburr needles and eliminate hooks and feather edges in manufacturing line.

The basting media used is Glass Beads which is chemically inert, uniformly round in shape, non-cutting in nature and easily controllable by air. The dust generated is sucked in the dust collector where dust particles are trapped and only clean air escapes to atmosphere.
